[Hetalia: Russia x Reader]

When you saw Belarus pestering Russia at the World Conference again, you just couldn't bear but stand up to her. She was a tick, a creeper and definitely someone you wouldn't want to hang out with, even if it was just for a coffee at Starbucks. You tapped on her shoulder, and she turned around hissing.

"What?! What do you want?!" Belarus snarled at you, her light blue eyes narrowed dangerously. You backed off slightly, but managed to stammer out, "W-Why do you always pick on Russia? He's your older brother, and he needs some respect!" Belarus seemed taken aback by this thought, and muttered to herself under her breath, "Nii-san might like me better if I... Nii-san..." She gives you one last unforgiving glare, as if your advice was the equivalent of an insult, and whips around back to her older brother again.

"Nii-san, I'm sorry," Belarus murmurs and walks away quickly, a dark grimace draped over her face. Obviously she was vowing that she'd get you back for this sometime, but like you cared for her. You walked back up to Russia, who had a mixture of grateful-happy-relieved expressions on his face. He gave his little sister one last glance, and sighed.

"Spasibo, [Name]..." [1] Russia said in his normal voice, with a little smile playing on his lips. "My little sister Belarus is a little too fond of me, da?" You nodded quickly, a pink tinge rising to your face. This tall Russian was a cute one! You noticed America waving at you with a smirk on his face from his side of the table, and you waved back. "I've got to go, but it was nice talking to you, Russia--"

"Call me Ivan."

You nodded at the country, and quickly ran over to Alfred F. Jones, the American blonde. He gave you a big grin.

"Heyo, [Name]!"

He lowered his voice to a whisper, then hissed into your ear: "Are you crazy? You're hanging out with that Russian vodka addict now? You know how dangerous he can get, I've actually 'fought' against him a little in the Cold War but this is just totally rediculous, dude!"
You gave a skeptical look at Alfred, and he held out his hands in defense. "C'mon, girl! It's completely true, and you know it!"

"Ivan's not some dangerous drunk! You know what, I think even Arthur is more of a drunk than anyone in this room," you said flatly, putting your hands on your hips. "I just talked to him, and he seemed like a really sweet guy. He's harmless to anyone who treats him as he should be treated." Alfred copied your gesture and put his hands on his hips as well, causing you to burst into a fit of giggles.
However, he didn't look as amused and started teasing you.

"Oh, so little [Name] likes RUSSIA?!" Alfred started yelling in the room. Everyone turned their heads to look at the two of you as your face
started turning as red as Spain's tomatoes. "I can't believe [Name] likes RUSSIA! She probably wants to become one with RUSS-!"
His last word was cut off as you slapped a hand over his mouth and dragged him out of the conference room, him struggling quite a bit and screaming "GEORGE WASHINGTON IS THE GREATEST!" as he disappeared behind the doors.

"WHY. Did. You. BLURT THAT OUT LOUD?!" Your yells could be heard from the first floor up, and you weren't even ashamed about it. Alfred gave you a puppy-dog sort of face, but you wouldn't take that crap from him. "Okay, I'll admit one thing to you if you won't tell anyone." The happy-go-lucky American jumped up and down, and said, "Sure!" You took in a breath, then said, "I do like Ivan, but I'm just too shy to say anything really nice to him yet." Alfred flapped a hand at you, and started running down the halls, shouting,
"[Name] REALLY DOES LIKE RUSSIA! ESPECIALLY WHEN HE'S IN HIS SOVIET UNIFORM!" You facepalmed, and began looking for things to throw at the twerp.

"Now, I have no idea what Ivan would want," you murmured to yourself, "but surely something to keep him warm while he's going home? He's told me that winter in Moscow was bitterly cold..." You started going down the aisles of scarves, hats and woollen gloves and coats and started piling up the ones you thought that Ivan might like to wear. One was a frock coat, with classy brass buttons and red linings; another was a plain white jacket (still pretty long, down to the knees Ivan-sized) with fuzzy linings and such. Since you just couldn't decide, you got both and put them aside in your bedroom, excited for the next world meeting where you'd see Ivan again.

~

It turns out you didn't have to wait for another world meeting. You had just bumped into Ivan in the grocery store while reaching for the same package of powdered sugar, and your hand met his gloved one. "Ack, sorry..." You looked up and saw it was him, and immediately turned around as if searching for something inside your messenger bag.

"Oh? [Name]?" Ivan inquired. You wanted to reply, "Yeah, that's me. Don't ask me why I'm turned around like this!" but instead you blurted, "HeyIvanhowareyoudoingtoday." The Russian seemed confused, but seemed to shrug it off. "Here, you wanted this sugar... Take it." He placed the sugar gently in your hands and strolled on. "Uh, wha-wait, Ivan!"

You'd called out for him without thinking. Oops.

"[Name] called for Ivan, da?" He turns around, his violet eyes gentle.

"Uh... Yeah. I got you some, um, stuff... So why don't you come over to my house later to pick it up?" You tried to ignore the fact you were indeed
blushing like crazy now.

"Oh, [Name] got Ivan some presents? Ivan will be at your house later today to pick it up... I'll bring a little hvorost, da?" He smiled at you, and waved in farewell, the scarf Ukraine gave him tailing behind him.

"No problem," you whispered, struck by his words.
UPDATE [1:56AM] - I want to do a Part 2 for this, so watch out for it tomorrow or someday... (attack of the plot bunnies!)

Ivan Braginski is Russia's human name.
Alfred F. Jones is America's human name.

A list of names were put up on :iconhimaruyaplz:'s blog, but later he took them down for no reason.
